What to know.
Solid surface is made into counters, vanities and wall cladding. Sheets are cut, heat-formed into curves where needed, and bonded with a colour-matched adhesive that is sanded and polished until the joint all but disappears. A basin can be moulded into the top, and the top can turn up the wall as a coved upstand, all in one piece.
The surface is non-porous, so spills wipe off and it is easy to keep hygienic, and it can be repaired: light scratches sand out and the finish is renewed. It comes in matte and satin finishes, in whites, greys, stone looks and darks.
